Classroom Guidance:
Each class sees the school counselor for Guidance Class for 30 minutes every other week. Lessons are based on the Academic, Personal/Social, and Career Development Domains of the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for School Counseling. Topics include: academic achievement skills, protective behaviors, alcohol and drug awareness, empathy training, impulse control and problem solving, anger management, and career exploration.
PBIS Internal Coach​
James Madison Elementary School utilizes the Positive Behavior and Interventions Support framework to maximize academic success and provide a safe learning environment for all students. Our Eagle Expectations encourage students to: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. Part of my role is being the PBIS Internal Coach, helping to facilitate the PBIS Systems at Madison.
